Research interests + projects

Computational thermodynamics for CO2 and H2 systems for safe pipeline transport. The design of transport facilities for captured CO2 and H2/Natural gas mixtures relies on accurate and robust thermodynamic models. Our interest is to develop advanced thermodynamics predictive methods for such systems to determine safe processing conditions.

Clathrate hydrates and climate change. We are interested to assess the risk of the uncontrolled dissociation of the earth’s methane hydrates and the positive feedback on climate warming.

Optimization and machine learning in process engineering. We are interested in using Science-based machine learning as a modelling approach for systems of interest in chemical engineering with a focus on clathrate hydrates and thermophysical properties. This work evolve naturally, from the nonlinear optimization methods for parameter estimation in various fields of chemical engineering we developed in the past 35 years.
